What is recorded

The site has no accounts, and asks you for nothing unless you leave a comment. Like any website, it receives what your browser sends with each visit, such as your IP address, the page requested, the date and time and the browser’s User-Agent, and uses it to serve pages, limit requests and stop abuse. An address or device that keeps abusing the site may be blocked, and blocks are recorded.

If you write to us by e-mail, we use your address and your message to reply.

Comments

If you comment under a post, the site keeps the name you give, what you write and when, with that post. Nothing else is asked for or kept with it.

Before a comment shows, its name and words, and nothing else, are sent to an AI moderation service, OpenRouter and the model provider it uses, to check for spam and abuse; the site’s owner may read it too. A published comment is public, with its name and date.

Cookies and your device

The site’s own cookies are only the ones it needs: protecting against forged requests, telling apart browsers that share an address so that limits apply to the right one, and remembering your choice about advertising cookies.

If your browser supports it, the site keeps copies of its own files and of the pages you have viewed on your device, so that they open without a connection. These copies stay on your device and can be deleted in your browser’s settings.

Ads

The site may show Google AdSense ads and contain Amazon Associates links. When ads are shown, Google receives from your browser data such as your IP address and information about the page and your device, and may use cookies or similar identifiers. If you follow an Amazon link, Amazon may record that you came from here.

A notice asks whether you allow advertising cookies. If you allow them, Google may use them for personalised ads and to measure them. If you decline, or until you choose, the site tells Google, through its consent mode, that you have not consented; how Google then uses data is up to its own policies. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie choice” control at the foot of the pages.

Google and Amazon handle these data on their own account, under their own privacy policies.

Videos

The video pages show videos hosted on YouTube, through its privacy-enhanced mode. A video’s own page loads YouTube’s player when it opens; on a set of videos, the player loads only when you open one of its cards. Once it loads, YouTube receives from your browser data such as your IP address and the page it is on, and it stores cookies or similar identifiers only once you play the video.

YouTube, a Google service, handles these data on its own account, under Google’s privacy policy.

Who else sees it

Our hosting providers, only as far as their job needs; OpenRouter and its model providers, for comments, as described above; Google (including YouTube) and Amazon, as described above; and authorities, when the law requires it. Some of them may be in other countries. We do not sell personal data.

How long we keep it

Technical data is kept only as long as serving the site, its security and the investigation of abuse need; messages, as long as needed to deal with them. A comment stays until it or its post is deleted; one taken down is deleted after a month. Data handled by Google, YouTube or Amazon is kept under their own policies. Deleted data may remain in backups until they rotate out.

Your rights and questions

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by writing to security@salvatoretrimarchi.com; that includes having a comment of yours removed. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live. If this notice changes, the new version is published here with its date.
